This is the new version casting of this helmet. The cast is cleaner, smoother with less imperfections. There will be less time in preparation and ultimately a better finished helmet.
The first and last image shows how the helmet may look once finished and professionally chromed.
Made by myself, Thom Wall from Sorenzo Props, taken directly from a unique, hand crafted mold.
This is a Fan-made representation and is in no way affiliated with Daft Punk.
This helmet was created to represent the 'Tron Legacy' / 'Random Access Memories' version of Guy-Manuel's helmet.
This is thee most accurate version of this helmet that you will find, anywhere!! so says a load of folk on the internet :)
"I'm speechless" "Perfect" "I want one" "you are the greatest prop builder ever"
are just some of the comments it has received!! (OK, OK, I said the last one, but I am pretty good!)
This is a ‘Kit’ and will require further work in order for it to be completely finished and wearable. You will receive a numbered cast taken from my own mold. Please note, colours may vary (which doesn't really matter cause you’re going have to paint this puppy anyway)
1x Resin cast (untrimmed)
1x Vacuum formed Pet-G transparent visor (untrimmed)
This kit is cast from Smooth Cast Onyx which is a quick drying polyurethane; it is specially developed to withstand high temperatures so it lend itself well to any chroming process that involves heat. It is up to you to figure out which suits your needs best.
Plenty of resin has been used, so the walls are quite thick; the piece weighs approx 1.2kg. You will also receive a professionally vacuum formed 2mm Pet-G visor. This will be uncut, trimming and shaping will be required before fitting.
As stated above there will be some amount of finishing to be done before the helmet can be painted or chromed. There are a few minor defects, air bubbles etc. which is normal with this type of cast.
This piece is ideal for the more competent builder or somebody ready for a challenge. I will not be offering any of my services with regards to finishing this piece; you’re on your own :)
To clarify, you will receive 1 x cast of the Helmet, 1 x Pet-G visor, both untrimmed. There will be nothing else.
Finishing the piece will be down to you. The first image show an example of what the piece will be like once the panels have been removed and visor has been trimmed and fitted.
*** Helmets will be shipped with 8 weeks of purchase unless the Express Option is purchased in which case the kit will be shipped within 2 weeks.I do my best to shipped a promptly as possible, but if you have a deadline the express option is recommended. ***
