    Tennent's Lager

    Golden Can Award

  • The Brief

In 2017 we were approached about making a special award for Tennent's to acknowledge those individuals who have had an outstanding impact on Scottish life and culture. The brief was simple enough, a replica of their pint-size can, with customer paint and graphics.

    Biffy Clyro - Band

    Biffy Clyro

Probably our favourite recipient to date :)

  • The Process

We made custom molds using a regular pints sized can as a master. The castings we made from polyurethane resin, we had a series of molds to increase productivity and could produce 15 castings per day. Each resin casting was finished by hand before being, primed and painted with a metallic gold automotive paint. The decals and vinyls were applied by hand before the lacquer was applied. To avoid any issues with glare whilst being photographed, we opted for a matt lacquer.

Resin castings which have just been primed.
We like GOLD. This gold was a custom mix to meet the clients brief.
Freshly spray, awaiting decals and vinyls.
Custom printed and die cut vinyls
Final coat of clear matt 2k lacquer
Finishing touches, die cut felt bottoms.
  • The Results

Since 2017, there have been dozen of recipients, from the world of film, TV, comedy, music, sport and other areas of Scottish culture. Here are just a few of our favourites.
